How do I create an option set?
First, what are option sets?
Option Sets or options catalog is a representation of a grouping of options for a set of products, generally a category of products. It is strongly suggested that if your product categories have different product options, that you set up an option set/catalog for each product category. Option sets are applied to your product categories and product combinations, thus adding the additional fees and costs to your product category appropriately.
How do I set up my first option set?
First, please review the product options that you have available in your database. You can find your product options under the "Products & Pricing" tab. Click the "Product Options" link. This page constitutes the list of available or possible options available on your site. If you need additional options not listed, simply request them from customer care, and one of the engineers will input those into your database for you.

Upon review of your available options in your database, click on the link, "Options Catalog". If your options catalog is empty, click "Add New" or your can click "Build Options Catalog".

Before you start to build your option set, please be sure to review the enclose explanation of how they work.
Option Sets are one of the most complex features or any print-commerce system. Enclosed is an Option Set wizard that will walk you through the various steps to ensure that groups of options that might apply to a product category or product line, such as digital or offset products is easily applied to a product category. From within this wizard you will be able to create and assign options and their various attributes, such as set-up fee, general fee, additional turn-around time as well as determine if the option is the default for a category and if it is to apply to the order as a whole or to a quantity. It is highly recommended that your review your available product options before you utilize this wizard.
First step, select "Create New" from the drop down and name our option set appropriately. Please keep in mind, you will most likely apply this option set to a product category. Then click the "Next" button.

Second step, select the master option, the sub option and enter an optional display name for the option you would like to have visible on your ordering page. The system will then ask you a couple of questions about the nature of this option and how it will apply to your order. When you are satisfied with your data, click the "Add/Update Option Value".

Third step, review the data as you have entered it for this option. To repeat this proces, simply select another option from the dropdown and follow the same procedure.

Final step. Review and make any final adjustments to your option set and when finished, click "Save Option Data", then click "Next".

Adjust any last minute changes to the name of your option set and click "Finish".

Congratulations, you have configured an option set and are now ready to apply this option set to a product category.
